Amazing! Love the backpack and the weapons.

off-topic: Hey G.G., go to http://blog.livedoor.jp/koba6068/ , he has a the preview of the runners of a lot of kits!

  3. A little too over-the-top; very silly looking IMO.

  4. this guy wasted two beautiful kits. and that sinanju, oh my look at that. :( realistic battle damaged effect: LVL 3

  5. Now this is better than his Hi-Nu in terms of execution. Paint looks a bit rough up-close but it still looks good. Still not a fan of over the top mods and the all-white rifle looks... weird. But this definitely is well-executed.

    @Anon 5:30:
I wouldn't call it a waste. It may be a waste to you but if he's satisfied with it then it's not a waste to him.

Heck, I even know someone who just buys kits for parts for scratchbuilding.

  6. what the hell do you mean well-executed?? you are putting the real gunpla modellers to shame. i miss those times when GG used to feature outstanding, inspiring works. sorry but this thing is just a terrible work. i respect the effort and all.

  7. well then mr anonymous why dont you make REAL gunpla modelling and take that shame away I gave to you?

  9. This kind of modifications takes lots of time and creativity.. Only those who appreciate true art and hard work see a masterpiece. Nice work @dave..!!

  10. Wow! This never fails to amaze me. This is your best work so far in my opinion Dave. :)

  13. And hey look at me! I'm anonymous Anonymous, you don't know my identity! I could say bad stuff about your silly work just because you can't identify and trace me! Boohoo! I love attention and I'm a really good gunpla "modeller." I miss the times when out of the box unpainted works with custom nubs and unsealed seams are awesome because that is simply what I can do. Woohoo! I'm so awesome and this is terrible. I'm sorry, yeah I'm sorry that my works are better than this one and I'm sorry that my works just like my balls are imaginary. You guys are shameful, all glory goes to the almighty me though I'm scared enough to show my true identity!

  14. You guys never know! Some of these anonymous people might actually be really good modelers and people who actually CAN TELL if a work is good or not.

The funny thing is when someone posts something that LOOKS GOOD at first look everybody goes "OMG, AMAZING, WOW, OUTSTANDING" just BECAUSE the modeller put a lot of "OMG, AMAZING, WOW, OUTSTANDING" stuff there that actually isnt really good. It ONLY LOOKS GOOD but IT ISNT GOOD. There is a difference and dont you say its the same thing.

Good modellers know when a kit is made well. They can tell if the scratch building is well executed and well done. They can tell if the paint it smooth or clean and many more. In short they know a good kit when they see one.

As for the not-so-good modellers well anything that LOOKS "WOW" will make them think it is good but a good modeller knows it actually isn't so much. I'm not saying that the really good modellers have the right so say whether something looks bad or good but when people praise the works that are amateurish over the real works with real skill and handwork put into it then thats really wrong. Didnt you guys notice that the GOOD works get no negative comments while the "AWESOME" works get some? See?

As for this build, yes it is nice and I could say it is great at best but there are some things that arent honestly. The paint looks rough. The scratch built parts looks SO scratch built. It looks like the arts he tried to SB were only half done. I respect the effort of this guy but he wont improve if everybody says he did a good job despite having obvious thing that he could improve. I of course want to be told of what I could improve on my kit and what doesn't look right because if nobody tells me then I would think that im awesome at gunpla when I should improve.

  15. i like the fact that davime is dare enough to do such modifications, for whatever the workmanship come out, i will still call this as creative work. in terms of execution, still needs a lot of improvement.

  16. Wow...words war even in the comment area. LOL

Just appreciate the work as is... no one is perfect. Even pro builders makes boring builds sometimes. And at the end of the day, this is really a work of art. Very subjective according each person's taste.

LOL at the anonymous that wrote that long ass novel, which didn't make any important points.

  17. Fake Name so people wont complain about being anonymousDecember 6, 2011 at 10:12 PM

"Didnt you guys notice that the GOOD works get no negative comments while the "AWESOME" works get some? See?"

    Hmm, hes got a point!

  18. have to agree with that super long thesis above. lol. "I respect the effort of this guy but he wont improve if everybody says he did a good job despite having obvious thing that he could improve. I of course want to be told of what I could improve on my kit and what doesn't look right because if nobody tells me then I would think that im awesome at gunpla when I should improve."

perfectly said. :) good effort though @davime

  19. when i was new to plastic modelling, i think that was 2 years ago, half ass builds like these were flooded with suggestions and critisms.. BUT, that doesn't mean the critics is telling the modeller to stop. They suggest/criticize something because they want this certain area of your work to improve. the problem now is that, new modellers are avoiding criticisms by going to forums which offers nothing but all praises to their mediocre work. hobbyfanatics and fichtenfoo forums are all empty, thanks to the new modellers who are avoiding critisms. lol @DAVIME: no ones forcing you to improve, actually basing on your hi nu, you haven't improved at all, but if you really want to become a good modeller, then take the advice of the majority.

  20. I want to build this! Really nice job!!
If only this thing were real I wanna see it in action

  21. One really has to wonder what these guys have against anonymity.

And anon 9:42 raises very valid points.

  22. To Anonymous guy.
Well... You should use "PROPER WORDS", not the words that can offend the Modeler even though the work is not that perfect.

You should make a comment that can make the modeler improve and inspire.

If you're going to continue attacking the modeler, we can easily detect your location.

  23. first of all I dont want any fight starting here okay? if you said I did not improve at all then I respect what you said. Im sorry I cant stand up to your standards. Ill try to at least "improve" on my next build. Expect more from me :)

  24. The Thunderhorse looks amazing. ;)
    but that Sinanju...T-T
I guess it takes a lot of courage to do that.

"If you're going to continue attacking the modeler, we can easily detect your location."

What is it to you? So what are you gonna do?

And I agree, use PROPER WORDS that won't offend the modeller.

    and @Anon(9:42)
I agree of what you've said, "I respect the effort of this guy but he wont improve if everybody says he did a good job despite having obvious thing that he could improve. I of course want to be told of what I could improve on my kit and what doesn't look right because if nobody tells me then I would think that im awesome at gunpla when I should improve."

  26. Maybe a good photographic skill too will help to see the full details of work much clearer, Dave. :)
Doesn't need to use expensive camera, lenses and lights.

Honestly, I'm too conscious to post my comment. I might get negative reactions. hehe. Just keep on what you're doing and continue to improve mhen.

  27. I still don't understand why do we have to hate so much if it doesn't pass to our so called "standards"? We all know the fact that the model need improvement, but we don't need to say oh gg should only feature "pro" works, oh this is crap, or oh you don't deserve that model blah blah blah. It's just sad that this hobby that is meant to be enjoyed is plagued by the so-called "elites" by words. Maybe they should post their "superior" works first.

  28. I think a forum where works of different levels could be good as a teaching forum. I teach beginning design and I can tell you that criticism is necessary for growth. That being said, you have to approach and digest that criticism in the right way. The inter webs will always be very blunt, precisely because of the anonymity involved, but you can certainly still learn from it. Your best critic is prob yourself and an artist, most importantly, must stay inspired and have goals to shoot for. What that means is you have to go out there and find the types of work you want to aspire to, wether it's technically clean established stuff like Naoki or more individual, scratchbuilt stuff like paint pusher (who just won GBWC).
