  2. I'm never a fan of the "extra finish" look as it always seems to disguise the details. I really like the titanium/gloss finish better but that's me. But it's a great looking paint job, very smooth but it should have been panel lined. I know maybe because of the choice of paints the painter decided to forgo panel lining but that's just another disadvantage of these extra finishes. It prompts you to not want to panel line or deem it unnecessary for a glossy kits.

I don't understand... How does a paint job like this hide details? Sure, there's no panel lining, but like the "Nanoskin finish" version of the Robot Damashii Turn A, you can still see the details and panels with this model's more reflective silver/metallic colors (especially under lighting like in these photos). I think you'd have more of a point if you were referring to straight builds or if someone used certain other paints for the model.

Panel lining is important, yes, but a painted build like this doesn't necessarily need something like Dalong's style of thick lines to bring out all the details. I disagree about this being a disadvantage because it's a way (even if it isn't the best way) to make the model not quite as toy-ish in it's appearance, which is why--as you mentioned--such a paint job prompts a person not to necessarily panel-line the thing.

In any case, I'm pretty impressed with how the modeler handles small details like the green Turn A symbol, or Loran and the white-and-red normal suit. He did a good job with the missile silo chest pieces and other details as well.
