  1. Crazy how 35 years have passed. Imagine how far GunPla will be in another 35 years; assuming it lasts for that much longer.

    2. In another 35 years I'm hoping they will walk around on the desk by themselves. :P

  2. I don't understand why bandai is keeping the rx78 vintage look (hguc, g30th, rg) and not the mg o.y.w./pg version which is way better.

    1. Totally agree. My GF just built the MG 3.0. I really don't like the scrawny legs and small feet on that design.

    2. the point of the kit is to commemorate the original, so vintage should be expected

    3. well, it's a revive of the original hguc rx78-2 so it's natural to stick with the original vintage look.there's also the possibility for bandai to release other variants, hg g30th, rg, origin

    4. It seems that Bandai's intention since Gundam hit 30 years is to remind fans of the suit's roots through a fusion of the classic design with modern accents, hence we have the G30th style of armoring for Gundam which is seen in its HG G30th, Mega Size, SoftBank MG, MG 3.0, RG, and even this guy.

Sure Gundam looks bad ass in the armor design of the PG, FG, K.A., and OYW but gundam wasn't chunky and modern in its original form. You can say Bandai's choice of style for the Gundam is one huge throwback of sorts beacus of the 30 and 35 years it's had.

  4. I have no guff against the numerous iterations of the original Gundam being rendered in plastic across the years in the numerous different lines, but I can't be the only one seeing the mass of wasted potential with any given one NOT being followed up with a GM retooling, so a GM had better be soon to follow.
